31 things to do with your journal
10: ideas and prompts to bring the fun back into journaling!
journaling doesn't just have to be writing out your thoughts and feelings. make it fun!
take it with you everywhere. to the gym, to school or work, everywhere. you'll need a place to jot down whatever comes to mind throughout your day.
decorate it. use those stickers you've been saving up, doodle on the cover with paint pens, spell your name with gems, make it yours; whatever that means for you. personalize it so everyone knows it's yours.
write down quotes you find. whether you find a quote on social media, a tv show, a book, or by people-watching, write it down. you'll be glad you did later.
draw what you feel like. maybe that looks like a dark spiral, a blob of every color mashed together, or something completely different. let the colors and shapes describe your feelings and completely ignore any imperfections. there's really no way to mess this up.
write about things you hate about the world
write about things you love about the world
write about people who inspire you and why; what can you learn from them?
write down 3 things you're grateful for; maybe that's your dog, a sunset you got to watch the other day, a strawberry-flavored ice cream cone you got to enjoy, or a good book you found at the library.
write a poem. don't worry about rhyming or using any specific patterns. just write what comes to mind and let it flow. try not to erase anything, or use a pen.
write 300 things you want to happen or change. then come back to that page in a year and see how many you can check off.
write down things that defined your childhood. (tv shows, movies, games, toys, etc.) feel free to check out my post about how childhoods have changed: On freezie pops and sofia the first
make a fig tree (sylvia plath)
compare your job or dream job now to your dream jobs as a child.

list every book you've rated five stars and why you loved each book so much. you can write down your favorite character, setting, quote, etc.
if you'res single, write a letter to your future husband
fill a page with one word. it can just be a pretty word you like, a word that describes your current mental state, etc. bonus points if you write it in your favorite color of glitter gel pen!
if you were a perfume, what would your top, middle, and base notes be? ex. joy and whimsy for the world around me, sympathy for bugs, unwise spending habits, etc.
what is your spirit animal and why?
what is your least favorite trend and why?
do you tend to keep up with fashion trends? why or why not?
